Hit Apple TV+ series 'Ted Lasso' reportedly gearing up for fourth season return

Two weeks after “Ted Lasso” co-creator Bill Lawrence hinted at the possibility of more episodes in the near future, reports have surfaced that the popular Apple TV+ show might be gearing up for a fourth season.

According to Deadline, Warner Bros. Television, the studio behind the hit soccer comedy, has renewed the contracts of three key original cast members: Hannah Waddingham, who plays AFC Richmond owner Rebecca Walton; Brett Goldstein, known for his role as the foul-mouthed Roy Kent; and Jeremy Swift, who portrays Director of Football Operations Leslie Higgins.

The last episode of the third season aired in May 2023, but with these renewals, it seems the studio is laying the groundwork for a potential fourth season. The three actors, all members of the U.K.’s Equity trade union, have been secured as part of this effort.

Next on the studio’s agenda, according to the report, is reaching out to other “Ted Lasso” cast members whose SAG-AFTRA contracts have expired.

Earlier this month, Lawrence noted that the show's return largely depends on Jason Sudeikis, who plays the title character and co-created the series with Lawrence and Brendan Hunt, known to fans as Coach Beard.
