 "Eve" is more than just a camouflaged robotic fish; it’s an advanced autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) equipped with a camera for underwater filming and sonar to navigate around obstacles using an algorithm. As Eve swims, it collects environmental DNA (eDNA) from the water, which can be analyzed in a lab to identify species present in the area. This innovative tool, along with others like AUVs and drones, aims to enhance our understanding of the largely unexplored ocean depths.
