 Former Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Faces New Allegations of Exploitation and Abuse at Global Sex Events

This weekend, new accusations have surfaced against Mike Jeffries, the former CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch, alleging abuse and exploitation at sex events worldwide. One witness reported attending a gathering in Spain with Jeffries and his British partner, Matthew Smith, under the impression it was a photoshoot. According to BBC reports, young men were allegedly injected with liquid Viagra at other events.

In October, a BBC Panorama investigation revealed claims that Jeffries and Smith exploited young men for sex in various cities from 2009 to 2015. A middleman linked to the events denied any wrongdoing, stating that attendees participated "with their eyes wide open."

A lawsuit filed in the U.S. last year against Jeffries, Smith, and Abercrombie & Fitch accused them of "international sex trafficking and abuse of prospective models." Jeffries' legal team denied the allegations, requesting the court dismiss the case. Smith's legal representatives claimed the lawsuit lacked specific details of any sexual offenses. Abercrombie & Fitch responded by hiring a law firm to conduct an independent investigation, emphasizing its "zero tolerance for abuse, harassment, or discrimination of any kind."

Eight additional men have come forward with allegations, some claiming they were abused or injected with drugs. These men described the actions of Jeffries’ assistants—often dressed in Abercrombie uniforms—who traveled with him and allegedly participated in the events. Some assistants were said to have administered liquid Viagra to the men.

One aspiring model shared that he was offered the chance to appear in an advertisement if he flew from Los Angeles to Madrid to meet Jeffries. Upon arriving, he alleged that Jeffries forcibly kissed him and performed oral sex, despite the model’s repeated attempts to refuse.

Jeffries, now 80, led Abercrombie & Fitch from 1992 to 2014, transforming it into a multibillion-dollar brand with over 1,000 stores across the U.S., UK, and Canada. Following the BBC’s initial report, the FBI reportedly opened an investigation, with officials said to be interviewing witnesses.
