Rapper Fatman Scoop suffered a medical emergency and collapsed on stage, prompting immediate hospitalization.


 Rapper Fatman Scoop, whose real name is Isaac Freeman III, was taken to the hospital after collapsing on stage during a performance at Town Center Park in Hamden, Conn., on Friday, August 30. Hamden Mayor Lauren Garrett confirmed the incident in a Facebook post, stating, “Tonight, while performing at Hamden Town Center Park, Isaac Freeman, aka Fatman Scoop, had a medical emergency on stage. He is being transported by ambulance to the hospital. We will provide updates when they are available. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.”

Emergency services were called to the scene at 8:33 p.m., according to TMZ. In footage of the event, Freeman, who was shirtless, was seen moving toward the back of the stage where he fell after leaning on the DJ booth. Medics were filmed administering chest compressions as concerned concertgoers looked on.

Currently, there are no further updates on Freeman’s condition, and representatives for the rapper have not responded to requests for comment.
