Jennifer Lopez has filed for divorce from Ben Affleck.

 Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are officially ending their marriage, as confirmed by a recent entry on the Los Angeles Superior Court docket.

Lopez filed for divorce in Los Angeles on Tuesday, exactly two years after their wedding ceremony in Riceboro, Georgia, which followed their initial elopement in Las Vegas a month earlier.

The split comes amid reports of the couple living separately, Lopez canceling her summer tour to focus on family, and their Beverly Hills home being listed for sale.

CNN has reached out to representatives for Lopez and Affleck for comments.

Their divorce is the latest chapter in a long-running romance that has captivated the public for decades. Lopez and Affleck first met over 20 years ago on the set of the comedy “Gigli,” where their on-screen chemistry turned into a real-life relationship.

Over the years, both married other people and started families. However, in 2021, fans celebrated the revival of "Bennifer" when the couple rekindled their romance.

In December 2021, Affleck told The Wall Street Journal that his life had come to reflect the person he wanted to be—someone striving to be honest, authentic, and accountable.

The couple first got engaged in November 2002 when Affleck proposed with a custom 6.1-carat pink diamond ring from Harry Winston. He also appeared in the music video for Lopez's 2002 single “Jenny from the Block,” which depicted the media frenzy around their relationship.

Their wedding, initially planned for September 2003, was postponed due to "excessive media attention," and by January 2004, they had officially split.

In July 2021, the couple made their relationship Instagram official, just months after Lopez ended her engagement to Alex Rodriguez. “I feel so lucky and happy and proud to be with him,” Lopez told People magazine before Affleck proposed again in April 2022. “It’s a beautiful love story that we got a second chance.”

In 2024, Lopez released a documentary titled "The Greatest Love Story Never Told," chronicling her independently produced album “This Is Me… Now” and her journey toward self-love. Affleck revealed in the film that he learned to “compromise” with Lopez regarding her desire to be more open about their private life.

Recently, the couple has been seen living separate lives, with Lopez celebrating her birthday in July with a Bridgerton-themed party that Affleck did not appear to attend.

Lopez shares two children with her ex-husband Marc Anthony, while Affleck has three children with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner.
